Since 1985, I have lived in Girton, one of the ‘necklace villages’ on the outskirts of Cambridge. Becoming a Tour Guide was my retirement project, following a career in early years education. I qualified as a Green Badge City of Cambridge Guide in 2016.
I enjoy presenting the city I’ve grown to know and love to visitors. It’s a privilege to be able to show groups around historic and beautiful buildings and colleges, including King’s College and its wonderful Chapel.
In addition to general heritage and history tours, I give the following themed tours:
- ‘Sex and the City’ – the history of women in Cambridge, both town and gown.
- ‘Cambridge Characters’ – a selection of anecdotes about lesser-known (and sometimes quirky) people who have lived or worked here.
